How This Book Was Written

This book grew out of the questions my patients and their families ask me most often. I began by turning those questions into an outline, then organized them into a logical path through the disease — from diagnosis to survivorship. I transcribed my own thinking on each topic, used OpenEvidence to search the medical literature and help draft the evidence behind each chapter, and then used Claude to format and structure the text into the guide you are reading. The clinical perspective throughout is my own.
